Frequently asked questions and how to reach us.

Which cards are supported?

NoriTap reads Japan's interoperable transit IC cards, such as Suica, PASMO and ICOCA. It reads physical cards only; mobile cards in your phone's wallet cannot be read.

My card won't scan.

On iPhone, hold the card near the top of the phone; on Android, near the middle of the back. On Android, make sure NFC is turned on in Settings. Thick cases, or other IC cards stacked with it, can block the reading.

The balance shown is out of date.

The balance does not update by itself: the app shows the balance as of the last scan. Scan the card again to see the latest balance.

Older history is missing.

Cards keep only about their last 20 records. NoriTap saves the history on your device every time you scan, so scanning regularly keeps a longer record. Periods where records were overwritten between scans are marked “Records from this period couldn't be read.”

I see a code instead of a station name.

Station names cover the stations of major railways, but some newer stations and some operators' stations appear as codes.

How do I delete my data?

Deleting a card in the app removes its data from the device. Deleting the app removes all of its data.

Can I move my data to a new phone?

Data is stored only on this device and there is no transfer feature. If you need a copy, use Export to Excel in Settings.
